Heidi is a qualified small animal and equine veterinary nurse and has a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. Heidi is currently employed as a Diagnostic Applications Manager for Southern NSW & ACT with Zoetis. Prior to this Heidi had been a veterinary nurse for over 18 years and has lectured all over Australia on exotic and avian medicine to veterinary nurses, her most recent role was Nursing Manager at Cannon & Ball Veterinary Surgeons Wollongong NSW.
Heidi grew up on a farm so has a lifetime experience with animals’ great and small. Heidi has a particular interest in pathology, orthopaedics, exotics medicine, mentoring/training veterinary staff, & lecturing.
2 fur kids currently live with Heidi and her husband Rob. ‘Kelsie’ is a 13yr old Kelpie who was the runt of her litter and no-one wanted her so in swopped Heidi to add to her family, Kelsie still acts like a puppy and loves to chase anything and everything. ‘Princess’ is a 14yr old Standardbred horse who was trialled to race but was too slow, so come to live out her life with Heidi and is now fat and fabulous and occasionally thinks she is a rodeo horse when being ridden.
Now if she wasn’t already busy enough, Heidi and her husband currently manage a cattle property, right next door to the farm she grew up on, and currently have over 100 cows & calves to manage plus 10 chickens. Together they also run a local cafe called Bean 2 the Valley.
